Utah's elections are overseen by the Lieutenant Governor's office. This includes ballot initiatives. Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox has taken a side against Keep My Voice's signature removal effort that places him in a conflict of interest as the overseer of the results. In addition to his bias, Keep My Voice has identified several aspects of Utah election law that Cox's office is not following.
It's important that government follows the law and treats all citizens equally under the law. When that doesn't happen confidence and trust in the government's ability to be fair, honest, and accurate diminishes. With these concerns, Keep My Voice has filed a complaint.
